Spiritual Healthcare of India

According to the Joshua Project, there are 2,295 people groups in India with 90.5% of them unreached with the Gospel. The largest religion is Hinduism and professing Christians are 2.1%.

We are grateful to the work of our partners, key coordinators and trained trainers in India who are equipping Christian healthcare workers in their witness for Christ. Participants in our Saline Process witness trainings are reminded of the importance of maintaining their own relationship with Christ and are given basic tools for shining His light on a daily basis in the lives of their patients.

As you see in the pictures, healthcare in parts of India are very different than what you might experience in America or Europe. With so many patients to see in a day and conditions that are less than ideal, healthcare workers in India can make a big difference by a single moment of compassion. Our training also encourages participants to pray for each patient before seeing them and listen to the Holy Spirit's gentle leading in asking the right questions, sharing a faith story or even introducing the Gospel with sensitivity and respect.

Matthew 5:13-16 reminds us:

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

In our ongoing commitment to India, our new online course (SPOT) is able to reach Christian healthcare workers beyond where trainers are able to go and even open doors for new trainings to happen. We pray and praise the Lord for new opportunities!
