Meet Glenn and Jane: Answering the Call
Glenn and Jane are new Saline Process trainers who were certified just months ago. Despite some personal obstacles, they agreed to travel and train alongside Glennis Mafi, who champions the Saline Process in Oceania. They flew to Invercargill, one of the furthest south cities in the world, where they invested in an interprofessional group of 22 Christians working in healthcare.
One participant said the training time “gave me a reason to go back to work on Monday.”
Through her connection with other partners and IHS Global staff, Glennis has developed a vision to build up teams of trainers in New Zealand, with the hope that it will include citizens of other Pacific nations who can take Saline back to their own home countries. This recent training included two Tongan women who work in care of the elderly. Perhaps one of them will help Glennis take Saline to the South Pacific Kingdom of Tonga.
Our shared hope is that Jesus-followers will be encouraged in their faith and work, and that many patients and families will receive quality, compassionate care as a result. Our ultimate hope is that more and more people will come to know Jesus as their personal Savior and Healer.
Glenn and Jane answered the call, and we praise God for providing the resources! The majority of costs and organization for this training were shouldered by local donors and volunteers. It took a team effort to make the event possible. We are sure that this training in faraway Invercargill was close to God’s heart.
Praise God! And please pray for this pioneering couple.
