IHS Global Saline Process Privacy Policy

(Updated as of: 2/12/2015) IHS Global is committed to respecting your online privacy and security. We will not collect personally identifiable information from you, other than what you supply to us on a voluntary basis.  Any personally identifiable you provide will only be used to support your relationship with IHS Global.

  1. Acceptance of Privacy Policy and Notice of Changes. Use of the IHS Global Saline Process Platform (the “Platform”) confirms your agreement and consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”).  If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please do not use the site. This Policy may be updated or changed in any manner at any time in our sole discretion.  Updates to this Policy are effective when posted.  Please check this page periodically for any changes.  Your continued use of this site following the posting of any changes to these terms shall mean that you have accepted those changes.   1. Child Protection. Only persons age 18 or above are permitted to use the Platform.  IHS Global does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18.

  • PARENTS: Although as a nonprofit organization we are not required to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) regulations, we want to respect and support your desire to protect your children.  If you believe your child has used the Platform and provided personally identifiable information, please e-mail us at salineadmin@ihsglobal.org and we will use all reasonable efforts to remove your child’s information from our records.

  1. Information We Collect and How it is Used. The types of information we collect on our website include:
  • Information you provide: Your name, address, phone number, email address, request(s) to receive newsletters, and in the case of online donations, credit card information and expiration date. This information is used to respond to your questions to us, and to complete transactions such as credit card donations and signing up for email newsletters.  Some services require the use of personal information to determine appropriate access. The Saline Process Platform requires an account and for you to be logged into the site, as a way to verify appropriate security access. We also keep a record of each donor’s giving history.  This information is maintained for IRS purposes and is also used to assist us in our budgeting process for our programs.
  • Non-personal Information -- collected automatically: We automatically collect and store logs of non-personal electronic data, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, device, browser type, and online activity data. We may use cookies and various technologies that are sent to your device when you visit our website. A cookie is a small file containing a string of characters that is sent to your computer when you visit a website. When you visit the website again, the cookie allows that site to recognize your browser. Cookies may store user preferences and other non-personal information. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent.
 
  1. No Sharing of Personal Information. IHS Global will not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to others.  We will not intentionally provide your personal information to any third party except: (i) when we have your permission to share your information (including to complete a credit card transaction in which case we will only use companies who employ similar privacy protections to secure your personal information), (ii) when we are required by law to do so or in the event of legal action arising from information posted by you, or (iii) in the event of exigent circumstances, such as when there are reasons to believe, based on information posted by you, that there is risk of harm to yourself or to another.
 
  1. Security of Your Personal Information. IHS Global is committed to ensuring the security of your information. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and prevent improper use, we have implemented appropriate physical, technological, and administrative procedures to safeguard and secure your personal information we collect online.  Your personal information is stored in a secured database and is always protected by encryption.  We use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol Internet encryption software when collecting or transferring sensitive data such as credit card information.
 
  1. Contacting IHS Global / Removing Your Name From Our Mailing List. IHS Global employs a strict “no spam” policy.  You can be assured if you sign up for an email or newsletter; you will only receive that email or newsletter.  If you no longer want to receive emails or newsletters, please email us at salineadmin@ihsglobal.org with the subject “REMOVE FROM MAILING LIST.”  If you have questions or comments about this Policy, our use of your personal information, would like to verify the accuracy of our records containing your personal information, or feel that this site is not following the policies we have described here, please email us at salineadmin@ihsglobal.org.  We will make every reasonable effort to address and correct the problem.
 
  1. No Liability for Acts of Third Parties. Although IHS Global will use reasonable efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of users’ personally identifiable information, transmissions made by means of the Internet cannot be made absolutely secure.  You agree that IHS Global will have no liability for disclosure of any such information due to errors in transmission or unauthorized acts of third parties.
