A Steadfast Spirit in a Shaking World

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58 ESV

The world is shaking! Earthquakes, hurricanes, pandemics, war—when will it stop? Where is God? Even more, the world is shaking as a result of anger and division among people. Where is God? Shaking in my life exposes the firmness or floppiness of my faith. Floppy faith fails. Firm faith remains steadfast and immovable. How do I establish this steadfast faith?

The apostle Paul experienced a shaking world—literally. In prison with Silas, an earthquake shook open their cell. What did they do? They remained with their guard, steadfast and immovable, and trusted in God as their victory.

Will you join me this week in being steadfast and immovable as we abound in the work of our great Lord?

Sharing the journey with you,

Bob Snyder
